Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract for the National Cancer Institute at Fort Detrick
RMF was awarded a multi-year contract through Leidos (formerly SAIC) to provide engineering services and technical support for the Frederick, Maryland facility under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. The various tasks for this contract include studies and investigations, preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and record drawings for new building and repair/renovation projects. Engineering efforts also include shop drawing and equipment submittal reviews, and technical assistance during construction phase efforts. The contract is focused on specialized design and construction administration for biological laboratories, general administrative areas, cGMP suites, research laboratories and animal facilities.
Project Details
Design projects and services under this contract have an emphasis on laboratory layout design, mechanical HVAC, process and fluid support systems, electrical power distribution, building automation systems (BAS), interior space planning/design studies, and engineering technical support in all disciplines.
Other focuses include sustainable design services, preparation of stormwater management plans, fire protection, life safety, indoor air quality, energy conservation, water conservation and hazardous material abatement.
Over a dozen task orders have been issued to date, including the following:
- Storm drain repairs and replacement throughout buildings 469 and 322 areas
- Pavement repair and replacement at the Animal Production Area
- Arc Flash electrical safety study at Vaccine Pilot Plant
- Infrastructure improvements study at Vaccine Pilot Plant
- Replacement of underground steam line at Building 538
