RMF Engineering Project Opens On Time and Under Budget

Wake County Detention Center a Huge Success

Raleigh, NC – RMF Engineering announced today the opening of the Hammond Road Detention Center Expansion for Wake County, NC. The project was completed three months ahead of schedule and $35 million under original budget. County Commissioner Chairman Paul Coble commented: “The teams that were involved contributed greatly to us saving money.”

RMF was selected to perform commissioning services for the 425,000 SF expansion being constructed to meet the needs of the growing population for Wake County, NC.

The facility consists of housing, administrative, medical, laboratory, kitchen, laundry and inmate processing areas. RMF performed both fundamental and enhanced commissioning services for the facility, which is pursuing a USGBC LEED Silver Certification.
