Maryland Issues New Inspection Requirements

Effective October 1, 2010, Maryland state law requires that all uninsured power boilers, heating boilers, and pressure vessels will no longer be inspected by State inspectors and now must be inspected by an Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA). Heavy fines, ranging up to $5,000 per vessel, will be issued by the state for owners who do not comply within 60 days after inspection due date.

RMF Engineering is currently the only AIA performing in-service inspections whose headquarters is in Baltimore, Md. The firm’s inspectors are strategically located around the state to offer the quick response to inspection needs.
