The Continuum (Lake City Workforce Development)

The Continuum is a collaborative effort from Francis Marion University, Florence-Darlington Technical College, and the Darla Moore Foundation.  Located in Lake City, South Carolina. The building was originally a Walmart built in 1969. Having been abandoned for some time, the design team, worked to convert this big box store into a state-of-the-art educational facility.

The Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) satellite academic building is approximately 30,000 SF and two stories. It houses a new culinary arts program along with workforce development spaces, computer labs, classrooms, offices, meeting and dining spaces. The building required service access for the culinary program and the workforce development spaces along with infrastructure for the workforce development and culinary arts equipment.
