Richard Girard, PE, HFDP

Division Manager

Richard Girard brings more than two decades of experience in consulting engineering to RMF.  He was hired in January 2022 to further grow RMF’s healthcare sector work, given his high caliber of healthcare design expertise, client-focused approach, and superb ability to manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams. Rich currently serves as a Division Manager for RMF’s Baltimore Buildings team and is the Healthcare Practice Leader.

His intimate understanding of healthcare facilities has already proven beneficial in furthering RMF’s ability to master all aspects of healthcare engineering and design. Richard is skilled at identifying challenges and applying unique solutions to provide the best, most reliable outcomes for his clients.

He leads and supports a highly skilled engineering team focusing on providing comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and energy systems engineering design services for technical projects.  Rich’s experience includes all aspects of healthcare environments with work ranging from small scale projects to major renovations, ground-up construction, and planning for emergency preparedness. He is also seasoned in working for institutional, commercial and government clients.

Rich earned a Bachelor’s of Architectural Engineering degree with a mechanical emphasis from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a Professional Engineer, LEED Accredited Professional, Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP), and an active member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), Association of Medical Facility Professionals and the Baltimore Chapter of ASHRAE.
