Duane Pinnix served as President and CEO of RMF from 1998 to 2018. Under Duane’s leadership, RMF evolved significantly. Initially focused solely on mechanical and electrical engineering, Duane helped steer RMF toward becoming nationally recognized for the analysis, planning, and design of multifaceted engineering projects serving higher education, healthcare, research and development, and government clients.
Duane joined the firm in 1984 as a project engineer. Now, as a principal of the firm with expertise in the design and commissioning of mechanical systems for infrastructure and building projects, Duane has a hands-on role with projects involving complex HVAC systems, including both new installations and phased renovations.
Duane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering. He is an active member of the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA); the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG); the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME); the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI); and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
