Several years ago, my wife found some beautiful land within our city that, because of its odd shape and zoning restrictions as part of the watershed, was impossible for a developer to subdivide into lots. As such, the value of the land was reduced to the point where we could afford it (okay, maybe with a lot of stretching). At any rate, we bought the land and waited for the day we could afford to build our dream home. Eventually, with fear and trembling we moved forward and found an architect and builder to bring our dream to life.
