Baltimore, Md. – August 9, 2011 – RMF Engineering announced today an agreement to blend key elements of Schlenger/Pitz & Associates into RMF Engineering, including professional resources, production teams and office locations. This effort represents a pooling of more than 65 years of combined experience between the two firms, a step that complements RMF Engineering’s recent national growth.
With this announcement, RMF Engineering is expanding its market sector penetration and presence in the Mid-Atlantic region with new offices opening in Delaware and central Pennsylvania, which will be overseen by William (Bill) Pitz, former CEO and president of Schlenger/Pitz.
In an email sent to RMF Engineering’s colleagues earlier this morning, Duane Pinnix, P.E., C.C.P., president and CEO of RMF wrote, “This integration of resources bolsters RMF’s position by enabling us to expand our reach in the Mid-Atlantic region and among our core market sectors, including healthcare, higher education, and government … [We] are ideally positioned to create substantial value for our partners through an in-depth understanding of local economies, significant capacity to handle work of any scope, and our unparalleled technical expertise.”
Pitz, now a principal at RMF Engineering, will lead the near-term development of the firm’s two new office locations – one in central Pennsylvania and the other in Selbyville, Delaware – with the goal of achieving an engineering team of 20 people across both locations.
With 37 years of experience, Pitz served as president and CEO of Schlenger/Pitz for 18 years. He led the firm’s growth to 70 employees with offices in three states. Pitz is a past president of the Baltimore chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and is licensed in many states.
Pinnix said, “We are excited to have Bill join RMF Engineering to help bolster our growth in Pennsylvania, Delaware and the Eastern Shore, and to combine services with a firm whose market sectors, technologies, and corporate cultures align so nicely with ours.”
In recent news, RMF Engineering made several other announcements about its steady and strategic growth, including new office openings in Columbus, Ohio and Atlanta, Ga, as well as the hire of two new professional engineers at the firm’s corporate headquarters in Baltimore, Md. RMF Engineering currently has more than 200 employees across eight U.S. offices.
