RMF was contracted by Lanier Technical College (LTC) to perform commissioning services for LTC’s New Hall County campus. A substantial new construction project for the Technical College System of Georgia and noted to be the largest ever renovation for the school system. LTC’s student enrollment has increased significantly over the years and the college concluded that a new replacement campus would best accommodate their growth. The new Hall County campus contains six buildings totaling approximately 315,000 SF. The buildings include an Administration and Student Success Building, Trades and Industrial Building, Allied Health Sciences Building, Business and Instruction Building, Conference and Economic Development Center, and Campus Support. The Campus Support building will include a central plant, ammonia refrigeration program, and facilities department. The Conference Center is 45,000 SF with 13,000 SF for banquet and exhibit space. The teaching kitchen and culinary arts space is 3,500 SF with an additional warming kitchen of 980 SF.
RMF joined the project team during the design phase and was involved in design reviews and direct communication with the design team. During the construction phases, RMF implemented and managed a commissioning process intended to streamline the quality control and documentation. Finally, as the project entered the acceptance phase, RMF created and witnessed functional testing protocols to ensure the building systems were working correctly. RMF continued involvement through the warranty phase to assist with project close-out and continued facility operation.
