RMF provided the design for a new linear accelerator at the University of Maryland Medical Center primarily used in radiation treatment for cancer patients. The scope included all mechanical and electrical engineering services for the upgrade, including designs for under-floor electrical conduits, chilled water isolation valves and the removal of an unused medical gas cabinet.
The design was completed on a tight schedule to be ready by the equipment delivery date. By utilizing an Integrated Project Delivery method, RMF and the full team were able to complete the design and prepare for the installation of the new Linear Accelerator on track with the equipment delivery date. The project was designed and installed in less than three months, staying on schedule which minimized the shut-down time of the space for installation.
