RMF provided MEP Design for this 32,836 SF of new construction and renovation of the Ambulatory Care Center located at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, SC. The scope of work included a new addition to the Ambulatory Care Center that houses clinical and waiting areas. This expansion provided a more visible entrance along Spring Street. The Women’s Center renovations increased the number of triage spaces and increased space that was previously limited for the staff and clinical support. This project also provided adequate access for expecting mothers.
Rather than serve the addition to the hospital from one of the existing central air handlers, a new, dedicated, rooftop air handling unit was chosen. This allowed the new unit to be selected at a more reasonable static pressure, saving significant fan energy. It also gives the hospital more granular zoning in the event that the area would be shut down for an extended period of time.
